Hi,
I have 3 comps at home. Right now one is running linux (corel), one win2k and the other win98SE. The unltimate goal is to use my linux computer as a "NAT box" from which the 2 other comps, which will be running win98SE, will access the internet. I have 2 Realtek NIC, a D-Link NIC and one 3COM NIC. The linux box will have the 3COM (cable modem) and D-link (hub) NIC. A few questions...
-What protocols need to be installed on the win9x comps?
-Do I need to use a Domain name?
-Can I use static IPs or should I use DHCP?
-How do I configure TCP/IP, Windows Workgroups and Samba server settings on the Linux box?
-The driver used my linux for my d-link NIC is ne2k-pci.o, is that ok? I haven't installed the 3com nic yet.
-What firewalls should I use on the Linux box?
I tried accessing my network with the Linux box, but I get Network unreachable when I ping.
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
